The Steel Rail Half Marathon, 8K and Marathon will take place on Sunday, May 19, 2024.


Race start time will be 7:30 AM for the Marathon, 8:00 AM for the Half and 8:30 AM for the 8K

The Marathon, Half Marathon & 8K all start and finish at the Crane Ave trail head in Pittsfield, MA. Marathon course will be USATF Certified/Boston Qualifier.

All parking will be at Allendale Shopping Center. Please do not park in other business’ lots or you will be subject to towing.

Important Bib Information

Your bib will have two timing chips attached with safety pins. These chips are coded to match your bib, please do not mix them up with other runners. You are assigned a bib for the race for which you are registered. There are no transfers between races. Your time will not record for any other race that day.

  • Your bib must be placed on the front of your body, clearly visible to race officials.

  • Please place bibs on the front of your shirt or shorts, NOT ON YOUR BACK, so that our timers can read your bib number.

  • Each runner needs one timing chip on each leg with no clothing covering them in order to ensure your chip is picked up.

  • Chips can be placed lower on the shorts or on the shirt if it is untucked..

  • Timing chips should be attached to your clothing using a safety pin for each chip.

  • Chips must be visible for the readers to pick them up.

  • We recycle the timing chips so please drop them off at the pink basket at the finish line water station, your bib is yours to keep!

PORT-O-POTTIES

There will be port-o-potties at the start and finish of the race located at the trailhead and also a few feet from the start of the race. There are DCR restrooms along the course, as well as three additional stops added to the course.

  • 1 food ticket ($3) value for food vendors at the finish party,

  • In addition to standard post race fuel provided by the SRHM.

  • Music at the finish line!

Water stations are approximately every 1.5-2 miles along the course. Liquid GU brew replacement will be available on the course for miles 6-24 stops.

Spectators: Best viewing location is the Berkshire Mall trail parking lots. Park at the mall and walk down.

A portion of the race proceeds will go to maintenance and expansion of the DCR’s Ashuwillticook Rail Trail.
